Monday. 1.3.11 B-Boys in Iztapalapa

Tonight we got a call from Josue’s cousin Arturo who was in Iztapalapa with his family. He said we should go over there to the jardin, where the “kiosko” (gazebo) is, that there was something going on over there that we should see.
So, his Tia went with us to lead the way and start showing us the bus system. Which “pesero” (“fishbowl” - what they call the regular busses here) to take.
When we got there, we’re walking through the jardin, wondering what we’re supposed to be looking out for. Then Josue sees the guys in the kiosko break dancing and he knows that’s the reason his cousin had called us.
So we go up there to check it out. These guys had music going, which of course made much more sense to us than the last group of b-boys we encountered. So I sat down and started taking pictures. Their music was good and inspired Josue to get out there.
It’s making me want to learn, so I could be a b-girl! This crew has one girl with them, she didn’t really dance, but looked like she’s learning and practicing.

That's Josue!
