Tonight we went for a little mini adventure with Tia Yola to a store called Chedraui - she’s been telling us it has better prices. So we wanted to see for ourselves. We needed to take the “pesero” (“fishbowl” is what they call the busses over here) to get there. It turned out to be true, the prices were definitely cheaper, than most pharmacies and even Walmart is over here. This reminded us more of what Walmarts are for us over there. As we were walking in to the store, it was starting to drizzle outside - that’s the first rain since we’ve been here!
We do a little shopping, then go outside to catch the bus again, only now it’s dark and Tia seems a little confused. We tried to catch a bus in front of the store, but the driver yelled to us we need to be on the other side of the street. So we go for a walk to get to the main street, and then get to an overpass. We cross over and then realize, that all the traffic on both sides of this road are all going in the same direction (the opposite direction we need to go)! But then, we see that the busses are traveling in the direction we need to go, in the far right lane. It’s crazy, because the other eight lanes are going in the opposite direction!
Even if our “tour guide Tia” gets a little lost, she still finds her way around! These roads are so confusing, we still have yet to try it on our own in this gigantic city!
