Today we are going to caravan to the city, behind Tios Yola y Arturo. We’ve spent a month and half here in the ranch and we’ve had a great time, but now it’s time to move on.
Since they came over here to spend New Year’s at the rancho, we thought it was a perfect chance to follow them in to the city, and go stay with them for a while. We’ve been to the city a couple times, and it’s so big and confusing, we thought we’d get guided in this time. And good thing we did - because we probably would’ve got lost otherwise.
So, coming in to the city, we were climbing. We entered in through La Marquesa, and soon after that toll station we start seeing the big buildings, different corporate sky scrapers. But the city is so grand and smoggy, that so far what we saw, we couldn’t even get a scope as to how far out it expands.
Once we made it in to the city, Charlena started farting, pretty consistently. We had noticed a slight climb, but I don’t think either one of us realized just how much we had been on a steady uphill incline. So, apparently the change in altitude was significant enough to effect her timing, and she kept backfiring. But since we didn’t want to lose our guides, we just kept pushing on.
At last we arrived to our new home in the city. Total it was about an hour and half long drive from the ranch. We all came inside for a pit stop, they showed us around, then we walked down the street to the Mercado to get something to eat. Josue had his first “huarache” since we’ve been in Mexico, and I had a quesadilla de tinga and we shared and order of flautas.
En route to the city!
