So, we’ve been asking the family here if they’ve heard of a place called “El Huarache Azteca” - it’s a restaurant that Josue found on YouTube here in the city that they were giving a lot of props too. We saw that video clip back when we were still in the states and had been curious to try it since. They hadn’t heard of it, so we did some research to find that video clip again and see if we could find an address. Last night I found it!
So today we were going to go try to find it. We found that it’s in the colonia de Artes Graficas, delegacion Venustiano Carranza, when we found it on the map - we realize it’s not too far from where we’re staying. But when we get there around 4pm- we find that they’re already closed! It’s only a lunch place! Shoot!
As we’re turning around to leave and head home, a guy directs us to another huarache restaurant. It was only a few doors down from the other restaurant and was still open. This guy says this place is way better than the other, of course! We’re hungry either way, so we stay and give this place a try: El Huarache de Jamaica! We were quite happy with the food. It was very tasty and we all left full! Our waiter Ruben was very nice, and led Josue to the manager of the restaurant when he asked if it would be okay to take pictures.
It was here that we learned the way we like to prepare our beers - we’ve apparently been drinking “Micheladas” all along! But what we learned “Micheladas” to be when we were in the rancho - they were with Clamato, Beer, Lime & Chile Piquin. All of that never caught our attention. But when Blanca ordered a Michelada de Corona, with her meal today and received a Corona in a bottle and an icy mug filled atleast 1/5th of the way with Lime Juice and the rim all covered in salt (like for a margarita) - we were surprised that it was a Michelada. That’s how we like our beers - more lime juice than beer and salty! So now we know!!

An average intersection in the city - Bugs are everywhere here!
