Today was a pretty chill day, we decided to skip on the posadas tonight, because well, we just kind of got the jist of how they go. To us the bigger appeal than getting bags of treats, is to hang out with our family, and since today it wasn’t really going to be in a neighborhood we knew, we didn’t feel like we’d be missing to much. Instead we just decided to stay home and play cards in the evening.
In the morning we took a drive to Tenancingo to go take care of some business and check out a store over there. On the way over there Charlena died out in Santa Ana. Since the last time I mentioned we had issues with the carburator, we’ve been trying to get in contact with our mechanic friend, but haven’t been able to catch up with him yet. But we’ve learned the signs & how to take it apart quickly and how to clean the smaller parts inside that are probably getting clogged. So, very calmly and ritualistically, we pull off to the side and go about our routine. We put it back together, put the tools away, and get ready to go - she starts right up! So, we’re back on our way. We get to Tenancingo, do what we need to do, and make it back home fine! What we are doing so far are quick fixes, it gets us back on the road and to our destination. But we know that soon we really need to get it figured out better.
Later during the day, we were back at the rope. Josue and the kids all trying to get more fancy with their stunts. Today, was my first day of swinging at all. And to congratulate me, right as I landed back at the top of one of my jumps, Gerardo was there waiting for me with a homemade confetti bomb! I got showered with confetti and was shaking it and picking it out of my “microphone hair” (as Mari calls it) all day long!
While we were playing we just had to take a break to go take pictures of little Abby on the pileta (a concrete wash basin & wash board). She was sitting on the side of it as she was scrubbing and washing her pants. The cutest part of it was that she’s only like 3 or 4 years old, but she actually was washing her own clothes - she had her technique down and everything.
Back at the rope, to defend my honor for the confetti bomb, or maybe just to make himself and the rest of us laugh - Josue gave a Gerardo a wedgie!! That definitely was the funniest part of today… we were still laughing about it this evening!
The Girls - Ale y Gloria
That's a mean wedgie!
Look at Emmanuel getting fancy -
...and then his landing! - Wait, where did he go?!
